For those of you who missed it, I turned awesome last week.
I know that most of you are wondering how it is even possible for me to get any more awesome, and that is a fair question. I guess I’ll just have to prove my increasing awesomeness in blog form over the next few months 😉
But before that, I feel the need to tell you how the day unfolded.
Well TBH, it didn’t start great. Bailey and Ava decided that the night before hand was the best time to play musical beds, and so I spent most of the night squished up in to a tight little ball, in the corner, until I had the good sense to go and climb in Ava’s bed. Only, of course to be woken at 4 am, when she came back in and said “Mummy, you were gone!”
“Yes. I was sleeping here.”
“Oh that’s ok. You can sleep with me,” as she climbed in and effectively blocked off my escape route.
I think she may have missed the point….
Then at 5, Bridie woke up to use the bathroom, and discovered the 89 balloons that Boatman had decorated the house with. (30 in the hallway, 30 in the lounge and 29 in the Dining Room cause one popped :)). In her excitement, she decided that every other person in the family also needed to wake up to see them.
At 5 am I failed to see the cute funny side.
Now all of this would have been tiring enough on it’s right, but even worse when you have a cold.
I was sick for my birthday.
It started as a sore throat and headache last Tuesday night whilst IBOT reading, and by Thursday Night, I was a snivelling, miserable mess, who was feeling the exact opposite of anything awesome.
I may have even started to cry Friday morning, when I was at first woken up, because I really thought by that point, the day should have been cancelled.
Thankfully things got better.
Not only did a visit to the hairdresser noticeably life my spirits, but the hundreds of Facebook, twitter, blog and Instagram messages, made me feel nothing short of super star like. So to everyone who sent their well wishes, Thank You. I would have loved to reply personally, but there were just too many of you.
A good problem to have 🙂
Highlights of the day, (apart from all the social media love), included the iPhone 5 fairy finally showing up, a total of 4 birthday cakes, and a Grey’s Anatomy themed dinner at HogsBreath.
But why tell you, when I can show you? 🙂
So as you can see, it was a great night and fun was had by all.
Except for maybe the duck.
So despite a killer cold, and next to no sleep, I have to say it was a pretty good birthday.
Maybe even an awesome one.
Have you ever had a Grey’s Anatomy themed party?
Do you so want to eat my duck?
Have you entered the competition of awesome? I’m drawing a winner today. 🙂
