Today I’m thankful for new beginnings.
For a fresh start.
For the sun rising every morning and a chance to do things differently; to do them right.
I’m thankful that it’s never too late; you can always come back from your mistakes. You can always make a change, and move forward. That true repentance is enough, and amends can be made.
I’m grateful for little people who forgive the mistakes their mother makes, and loves her unconditionally. For big cuddles after screaming fits. For complete, and unconditional acceptance that I’m not as perfect as I would like.
I’m thankful for the New Year. For the chance to reflect and make plans. To evaluate and look at where I am, and where I want to be.
For goals that can be set and aimed at; for vision and for dreams; for hope and for passion. For the ability to look at my life honestly, and purposefully, and move forward in a positive direction.
I’m thankful that the New Year is inconsequential. That it doesn’t take the ticking of the clock to make a change; that I can always choose to move forward. I am not bound by a day, or a year. The ability to change is always in my power.
I’m thankful for my faith. That it is not built on rules and regulations and a huge list of dos and don’ts. I’m thankful that at the crux of the Gospel the message is one of Love, of grace, and of second chances. Of mercy that is new every morning. I’m thankful that I ALWAYS have a second chance.
