Today, the wonderful Gemma over at My Big Nutshell is hosting IBOT. She is preparing for the huge RUOK Day link up on September 15th, and wanted to trial the Inlinkz System. For this reason, today’s IBOT is also a blog hop.
After adding your link, (or perhaps before), click on the ‘get the Inlinkz code,’ button, copy the link, and paste it to the bottom of your post in HTML mode. The list of links will automatically appear at the bottom of your post, and wa la! You can now hop from blog to blog!
So after the huge success of the many styles of Jess, (meaning a few more people than usual viewed it), I decided a sequel was in order.
But the problem with living in a small city like Darwin, is that there are actually limited shopping opportunities, so a sequel was a lot harder than it sounds.
I had a few ideas, but I think they will wait for another day, as this weekend I went with the easier option.
Presenting, the many SHOE styles of Jess.
Now showing off different shoe styles is also quite tricky, for a number of reasons.
One, some people might actually like shoes that I think look like something my grandmother (may she rest in peace) would wear,
And two, in a shoe store there is only one shoe on display to try on. I realised that I could have asked for the second one in the pair, but I didn’t really want to waste anyones time, or lie. Therefore some of these pictures are of only one shoe.
To begin the shopping adventure, I started off in Big W. These were the first pair I tried on.
As you can see, the mesh covers your toes (ostensibly to keep the mozzies out), whilst the back is open to allow for easy access (?). I’m not sure exactly where you would wear these shoes, but I’m going to suggest that they would make great boat shoes. Not only would they protect you from the midges, but they would keep your tootsies cool, and it wouldn’t matter if you got water in them, cause it would run straight out.
From boat shoes to a pair of pretty heels.
To be honest, I didn’t think much of these until I put them on, but in this pic, I think they look pretty darn nice, if I do say so myself!
Have to admit, I am a huge fan of the wedge. Considering that I quite regularly trip over my own bare feet, a wedge with a bit more support is much safer than perhaps this next pair of shoes.
No, I did not really hurt myself. That is just my fabulous acting skills on display. I’m sure NIDA will be contacting me any moment soon with an all-expenses paid acting scholarship.
However if I am going to be a famous actress, I’ll have to get my but looking as good as Miranda Kerr’s in her latest photo shoot, and these might just be the shoes to do it.
Apparently, the rocking sole is supposed to help tighten your calves, thighs and glutes, and it even digests your food for you, does your dishes, and cleans your floors as well.
Well, not really, but it would be cool if it did.
All this shoe trying on, left me quite exhausted, so I found a pair of slippers.
I thought these would go quite nicely with the PJ’s I tried on in my last Styles of Jess edition.
Leaving Big W, to see what other shops had to offer, I came across this guy. He looked quite sad and lonely, so I stopped to give him a hug.
There is such a thing, as too many muscles. To be perfectly honest, it felt like I was hugging a store mannequin. (Ok I realise that was quite possibly the worst joke ever. Boatman is currently distracting me with startling facts about the pornographic industry, and it’s rather hard to focus.)
From Big W to Betts, and I found these.
For a hundred and fifty dollars, they were a little expensive for a seventies themed costume party, and the heels would most definitely cause me some serious damage, but they were honestly so pretty! I wish I could wear them out dancing with a strobe light, and mirror ball, and see the jewels reflect off the walls!
Come on, be honest, you love them too don’t you?
This was a picture that was accidentally taken afterwards.
I put it in for authenticity’s sake.
Then, because the MIL, (who was taking all these pictures) was
ticking me off, wanting to play hide and seek, I channelled my inner toddler, and hid inside a rack of discount clothes.
It wasn’t easy you know; trying to hide, but make it look as if I seriously wanted to buy them so the sales lady didn’t give me her cranky face.
I took a small break from shoe shopping, to try on a new pair of jeans. I really liked this pair, but I wasn’t sure how my butt looked, so I tried taking a photo to send to Boatman for a second opinion.
He approved, but in then end I gave it a miss on account of muffin top.
So back to the shoes, and it was time to channel my inner cougar. (Which is what Kellie lovingly named me on twitter last week! For the record, I am only 28, which I think is just a little young for the cougar category.)
This spotted number were actually quite nice, except I thought that I would perhaps get run over, as every time I looked at my feet I could see a Zebra crossing.
In the end it was KMart that got my money. These babies were only $19, and despite Bridie saying that she didn’t really like them, I think they were worth every penny.
They were very comfy to wear out on romantic wedding Anniversary dinner with Boatman, and cheap enough that dinner was not at Mc Donalds.
So all in all, a very satisfying shopping experience. I also bought a new top, and jeans for the occasion, and enjoyed dressing up for once.
My feet too, loved the pampering. Considering, that is is usually what they are dressed in.
So what do you think? Which shoes would you wear?
