Well it’s official.
The countdown has ended.
The time for writing lists is over.
Come 8:03 am, I am officially awesome years old.
Random fact: I was born on the 8/3/83, and 8:03 and weighed 8lbs13oz. Can you guess what my favourite number is? 🙂 (Hint: it’s not three.)
Now considering the fact that I have been banging on about this milestone for the last God-Knows how many months (a fact which I blame entirely on Boatman taunting me about), I can bet that you are all well and truly relieved that the day is finally here!
I think I am. 😉
Anyway, the most pressing question, after finishing as much of the Countdown to Awesome as was humanly possible, was what kind of momentous birthday blog post would I produce for you today?
I considered a moving, sentimental recap of the last 30 years, but that would be too long.
I pondered writing about how I’m excited about what’s to come, but I’ve already done that.
So then I came to the only logical conclusion: an awesome, massive, once in a lifetime, 3oth birthday giveaway, of all of Jess’ favourite things (said in high dramatic Oprah type voice.)
And what are Jess’ favourite things?
Well I have narrowed the list down to 4.
4 things that I love and enjoy probably more than is healthy, and that I would want to share with every single one of you.
4 awesome, prizes for an awesome day.
4 gifts, that you will no doubt be begging to receive.
And so, in no particular order….
- My Macbook, my ipad and my iphone. Basically anything Apple. I’m a total apple convert and love all their products. And one lucky reader will be loving something totally apple as well.
- Grey’s Anatomy. Seriously is there any show better? Any that can make you
inaccurately diagnose an inflmaed appendix, just by watching one episode? I think not. One lucky Essentially Jess reader, will be receiving their very own, limited edition, personally signed Mc… photograph, by my favourite medical duo.
- Pepsi. Yes, I know it’s not the main stream drink, and most people prefer coke, but not me. I think Pepsi just goes better with everything. Because of this, I spoke to Pepsi, planning for one lucky fan, to receive an endless supply of Pepsi Next.
- Bloggers/Blogging. It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of the blogosphere, and anything blogging related. Tuesday is totally my most favourite day of the week, and Friday comes a close second. So the fourth, and final prize is the pic of the bunch…. but more on that soon.
So my friends, that was the plan, and I carried it out to the best of my ability, writing persuasive emails, and asking all my favourite companies for all my favourite things.
Then I realised a sad truth.
Awesome I may be, but Oprah I am not.
And sadly, one by one, all the companies said no. 🙁
But I refused to let that stop me! I had planned a giveaway of my favourite things, and a giveaway I would host. Those promises would hold true, or my name isn’t Jess.
And so, the first winner, will win something totally Apple.
Or possibly a fresher one.*
And the second winner will get that limited edition Mc picture. It will just be of McSAHM and McBoatman.**
The third lucky prize winner will take be the recipient on an endless supply of Pepsi Next. And when I say endless, I mean, if I ever catch up with you in person, I’ll buy you as much Pepsi Next as you can possibly drink in the course of our meeting.
How generous is that?
And finally, the fourth lucky person, will win an actual prize. Proving that bloggers are so much better than big companies, and don’t care if I’m Oprah or not, the gorgeous Lisa from Zen Designs, is sending out this beautiful handmade necklace to a lucky reader. Not to mention these two bracelets as well
Like I said, Bloggers are better.
Did I mention it was an IBOT blogger too? Obviously cream of the crop.
And as if those, awesome prizes, were not enough at all, I give you this: the most beautiful Ava serenading me for my birthday.
To enter this awesome comp, all you need to do is answer the following question:
What present would you get me for my birthday, based on all my favourite things?
Best/most creative answer, as judged by Boatman, wins. 🙂
*Delivery of apple will depend entirely on me being in the same town at the same time as you. Apples can’t be sent in the mail sorry.
** There will be a better photo than this dodgy iphone pic.
