It’s time for another blog-tagging game! We techno-geeks apparently love these, because they are popping up quicker than you can say, ‘I’ve been tagged.’
And reading back on that, that was possibly the lamest way to open a post ever.
Apart, of course, from my usual, ‘So I was tagged by….”
Which I was, and I totally appreciate, but anyway….
Ms Mystery Case started this 5 bloggers worth casing thing, and, like I said, I was lucky enough that Tegan from Musings of the Misguided threw my name in the ring. The gist being I answer 5 questions in, five minutes. Or your read it in five minutes. I’m not sure, but it’s called ‘five in five’. Which reminds me of five by five, which then makes me think of Faith from Buffy, and how good was that show?
But I digress, and we’re keeping this snappy (five minute snappy), so here I go…
How long have you been blogging and why did you start?
About three and a half years. I started because I wanted to practice writing more, but also give myself a platform to sell my book. I was such a noob when I began. I’m so glad I have no screen shots of my early blog look (think a frightful shade of pink) because it was terrible. I couldn’t understand what twitter was at all, (didn’t help my first experience was googling a hashtag and not understanding why that’s ALL anyone was talking about.) I was highly sceptical of everything; signing up to Digital Parents, was, I was sure, going to open me up to internet predators, and joining FB was certain to expose me to who knows what. Not to mention the fact that at one point, I managed to convince myself that installing a piece of html code on my sidebar would cost me money.
It was all very special.
If your wardrobe could talk what would it say about you and tell us about your favourite or most worn item.
It would cry out for help. Seriously. It would say, ‘someone give this woman a hand, because she has no idea about how to dress herself.’
My most worn item is the only bra I have that is currently not stabbing me or falling apart.
And my favourite item are my beloved Doc Martens.
What’s your idea of the perfect date night?
Well I’d love to actually go out one of these days (it’s been over a year since Boatman and I have had an actual date.) But honestly, the perfect date night is at home with Fasta Pasta (there isn’t one in Port Lincoln *sob*) and a really funny stoner movie.
What’s on your worth casing list?
The closest Fasta Pasta restaurant. (See above comment ^^)
I would love to go to New York one day. And Switzerland.
Definitely a bra shop.
Also Red Rooster.
There’s a good chance I’m hungry writing this. (And no RR here either.)
If you had a theme song, what would it be and why?
That changes all the time depending on what season of life I’m in. In the past I would have said “Slide’ by the Goo-Goo Dolls, ‘Drops of Jupiter’ by Train, or ‘Unwritten’ by Natasha Bedingfield.
Now it’s probably a toss-up between ‘The Story’ by Brandi Carlisle and ‘Scratch’ by Kendall Payne.
For no other reason than I like them particularly right now.
Now comes to the tagging part of the post, where I get to pick five bloggers (I do like the symmetry of all five-e-ness), that I think are worth casing.
In no particular order…
Emily from You Learn Something New Every Day
Melissa from Hugzilla
Bec from Seeing the Lighter Side of Parenting
WifeSylv from Two Became One
and last but not least…
Lauren from Create Bake Make
And there you have it! Five minutes of Jess.
Three if you read fast. 🙂
What’s on your worth casing list?
Do you have a theme song?
