Did you ever see that show Extreme Makeover?
No. Me either. But you didn’t need to see an episode to understand the basic premise. Someone who was, how shall we say it? Genetically disadvantaged, left their family to spend some time in some random house with personal trainers, hair stylists and plastic surgeons.
In short, they went in looking something like this.
And came out looking something like this.
Well move over Extreme Makeover, cause Diary of a SAHM is its own reality program, and has had a major transformation.
Just yesterday, had you visited, you would have seen this.
This post was published on blogspot, because .net was in hiding. She was in the equivalent of the Extreme Makeover home, getting help from the talented plastic surgeons who live there. (Little Hero Designs)
And the results speak for themselves.
Diary of a SAHM was broken; she needed some help and some guidance. A wise hand to remove the blemishes and make her sparkle. Like one of the best episodes of Grey’s Anatomy, I released her into the care of Little Hero’s finest, and with all the grace of a Seattle Grace Superstar, Michelle fixed her and made her all brand new.
In fact in my mind, my blog redesign and migration to WordPress was an intense Grey’s Anatomy scene, where brilliant and attractive plastic surgeon Mc Steamy, worked under pressure, and time constraints, to produce a result worthy of a medical journal. All of course, to the tunes of the Fray’s, How to Save a Life.
It’s just not Grey’s anatomy without a power ballad in the background.
(For those of you reading at home, Michelle looks nothing like Mc Steamy. Not to say that she is not attractive; rather that she is not a he.)
I have always been a blogger fan. I saw no problem with it’s layout designs and capabilities.
But Daisy’s recent migrations and redesign inspired me to make the move to self hosted WordPress, and a Christmas cheque from my dad sealed the deal, and I am so happy to have done it. Michelle did ALL the hard work, and put up with my excessive monologues, crazy ideas, and bad telephone reception. I can not recommend her work highly enough.
In fact my new blog look has inspired all kinds of makeover decisions.
After reading IBOT posts I plan on giving my floor a makeover be cleaning it.
The clean washing will also be transformed from a crinkled mess into piles of neatly ironed garments.
Chicken will be bashed, mutilated and stuck on a stick to be created into delicious chicken kebabs (or shazlicks as Boatman calls them), and at 1:30 PM Darwin Time, I plan on visiting the hair dresser and getting my own makeover.
If my hair stylist is even half as talented as Michelle, I have faith that she will transform me from this.
Clearly the most beautiful woman in the world. (A twitter/Facebook survey told me so.)
Now if you are genetically blessed, you may be able to stand next to Daisy (or me post hair cut) without feeling too bad about yourself, and if you’re tech savvy, you might have a pretty good-looking blog already.
But for those of you who aren’t, do I have a prize for you!
Michelle has generously donated a prize to one lucky Diary of a SAHM and IBOT linker. You can win your choice of a blog migration and twelve month hosting package, or a blogger redesign, so you’re blog can have it’s own Extreme Makeover. (Should you choose to make the leap to self hosted WordPress, Michelle would be happy to quote you for your design as well.)
The rules are simple. Follow the RaffleCopter form for your entries, and make sure your blog doesn’t look better than mine. (Like that’s even possible!)
Also, you may have noticed that my Google Fried Connect Button has gone. Google is disabling the feature on all non-blogger blogs, and I have decided just to leave it behind. Instead you can follow me via networked blogs, or subscribe to have Diary of A SAHM sent straight to your inbox. Competition entrants who follow myself and Little Hero Hosts will receive an extra three entries each for their time.
Also, for the month of December, Michelle is offering half price migration packages from blogger to WordPress. Depending on the size of your blog that is a HUGE saving. All you need to do is contact Little Hero Hosts and tell them Jess sent you!
Which is pretty Darn awesome, if you ask me!
