In a couple of weeks that have been hard work, there have still been so many opportunities to find the joy.
Like in a little boy happy about his first day at school.
And all the moments afterwards, where he comes home so excited to show me the things he is learning. What elation there is in writing your name.
In one on one time again with my littlest princess. Craft and play dough and jumping for ages on the trampoline, on a beautiful cool day.
In crazy weather. Even when it threatens remote coast lines that suddenly have importance, or makes you worry that little planes won’t bear up under the huge winds. Even when you can’t get anything dry. That beautiful crazy weather keeps the temperature down, and just makes me feel good. I can’t even say why.
In that crazy wind easing on days when little 8 seater planes carrying precious cargo, are due to come home.
In night-time cuddles from one little man, who sleeps as restlessly as his mother.
In peanut butter. How good is peanut butter?
In learning new things; in getting to participate in events she’s been begging to do for the last year.
In online shopping and buying new shoes for Boatman
In the Smurfs. And hearing their funny little sayings emerge out of a three year olds mouth.
In catching up with friends. Old and new.
In unconditional love from tiny people whom you are sure you are stuffing up on a daily basis.
In knowing that when this goes live, I’ll have my Boatman back.
What have you found joy in lately?
