With only two sleeps to go until DPCON12, (technically one, seeing as I catch the redeye from Darwin, and doubt I will get much sleep Wednesday night), my to do list is getting gradually shorter.
My clothes are bought.
My hair is cut.
Tickets are printed.
Most things that need advanced preparation are done; it’s only the incidentals that need organising.
But there was one thing, that prior to the weekend, was glaringly unfinished.
The matter of hugging.
This presents a problem, because according to all my sources on the ground (which doesn’t make sense really, but is just a cool thing to say), Digital Parents Conference 2012 may also be known as HugFest 2012. A place where bloggers from all over the world gather to show each other physical affection and completely ignore any personal space etiquette at all.
It could get ugly.
Having been forewarned by many that upon greeting me in the flesh, they will indeed be showering me with love, I decided to take it upon myself to face my fear, and prepare for the onslaught. This is, after all, the year of being fearless.
And you all know how I never miss the opportunity for a vlog.
So with no further ado, presenting:
Or do you feel the need to carry liquid sanitizer in your bag in case you are attacked with physical affection?
