You’re pretty sure that the excrement you found near the car was that of an endangered animal. As a child you studied the Bilby extensively, and you learnt much about their habits and characteristics. The presence of one in this are is a great source of excitement for you; usually you only see roos, spiders and differing species of birds in this neck of the woods. Bilbies would be a welcome change.
You go back to the shack and pack up as planned, already mentally orchestrating your next visit in 6 months.
6 months later…
When you arrive at Fishermans Paradise six months after the mystery car, you are pleasantly surprised to see there are bilbies all over the place! In fact locals in nearby Streaky Bay inform you that since your last visit, the bilbies have reproduced so prolifically, they are no longer endangered and there is even talk about renaming the area, Bilby Bay.
You’re so pleased you make up a thank you plaque and erect it in the area where you saw the mysterious car, hoping the environmental enthusiasts will see it. Then you sit back on your deck and watch the bilbies come out to play, happy that all is right with the world.
Your destiny had been reached.
