You’re pretty sure the tyre tracks match those you saw at the beach earlier, where your friend noted the lost bong.
Being curious as to why it would inspire a pitch-black, night-time search, you return to the beach, and find the misplaced object partially buried in a sand dune. You uncover it carefully and then take it home where you proceed to examine it closer.
It is, in fact, not a bong at all, but something that looks suspiciously like an odd-shaped genie lamp. Sure enough, upon rubbing the side of the object gently, a genie appears in front of you, wearing a toga over cargo pants, and a fishing hat. The genie instructs you that just finding his lamp is not enough to gain three wishes, instead you must also find his missing fishing shirt.
In what proves to be a bizarre tale, the genie tells of a bet he lost with a fellow genie who hailed from Ancient Rome; one whom took his fishing clothes and hid them on the side of road in a hole under a rock. The genie promises a life time of servitude to any who would find his shirt, and you now understand what the car was looking for.
Taking the lamp with you, you set out upon the road turning towards the town. The genie insists you’re driving in the wrong direction, but you encourage him to trust you.
Not long later you arrive at the fishing shop in Streaky Bay where you help the genie choose a new shirt for purchase. You also throw in new pants, a beanie and a squid jig, because nothing beats fresh squid. Returning to the car, the genie shrinks his apparel , and is so grateful, he binds his life to yours forever.
You return to the shack which had been converted into a mansion, and enjoy blissful, servant-filled holidays for the rest of your existence.
Your destiny has been reached.
