As I write this, it is hot.
Who am I kidding, this time of year in Darwin, it is ALWAYS hot! At 7:00 this morning it was 28 degrees and 87% humidity: read hot, sticky and muggy.
The air is thick here, it’s almost like blanket. When you leave the confines of air conditioning, it surrounds you like a giant sticky hug you didn’t really want.
Like I said. Hot.
Some people don’t mind it. Some people can play sport in this weather, or sit and watch sport. They can spend all day in a hot boat. They know it’s hot but it doesn’t bother them that much.
I am not one of these people. I like cool. I like air conditioning and a breeze, and to not feel as if my shirt is going see-through from sweat. Two of my girls are like me, and the other two kids are like Tim; tolerant and possibly a little crazy.
So when the girls from Style Counsel asked me to review some kids bamboo pajamas by Ergo Pouch for Ava, of course I said yes. Bamboo is supposed to keep you 2-3 degrees cooler in hot weather, and like I said, it’s always hot weather here.
Now to be fair, I have no idea if she is cooler or not. I considered asking her but didn’t want any negative comments. 😉 But the bamboo feels cool to touch (not to mention deliciously soft), and it dries really quickly too. After getting dressed for bed the other night, she decided to go and sit in the wet shower recess fully dressed. The shorts we took off, but the shirt dried quick enough that she could wear it to bed.
Oh and did I mention how cute they are?
The ergoPouch range is designed to give babies safe, comfortable sleep, and considering that sleeping babies are sometimes hard to come by, that sounds pretty good to me. The natural fibers stabilize the temperature, creating less need for restlessness and possible early waking, and not only are they cooler in warm whether, but warmer in cool weather.
ErgoPouch has a number of different products available on their website. Not only are these gorgeous jammies there (in long sleeved too), but they also have wraps, sleeping bags, arm warmers, and this gorgeous t-shirt that actually turns into a comforter so that bubby can have your smell all the time. Unfortunately I’m done having babies so I don’t get to try these out, but one of my lucky readers can!
ergoPouch is giving away a Bubbagum! (valued at $29.95) These gorgeous bamboo wraps are perfect for swaddling, and come in gorgeous colours. They would make a great gift or keep it yourself.
I have one to give away to a lucky reader, and it’s a bit like a lucky dip cause I have no idea what colour it is! It came all wrapped beautifully like this, and I didn’t want to open it. 🙂
All you have to do to be in the draw is leave a comment telling me what you wish you had had when your babies were little, that wasn’t available, or you didn’t know about, and fill in the rafflecopter form.
Easy leash, lemon Squeezy!
Disclaimer: this is not a sponsored post. I received a pair of bamboo pajamas from ergoPouch. All views are my own.
