I love presents, just love them.
I like to get them and I like to give them.
Especially like to give them.
Christmas is my favourite time of year, cause I get to buy presents for all the people I love, and I put so much effort into each and every one of them, determined that the present I choose, will be their favourite.
And I always win.
I’m just awesome like that. 🙂
Second to Christmas comes birthday season. I say season, because all four of my offspring made their arrival within 54 days of each other. (Though obviously separate years!) For those playing along at home, that’s a birthday approximately every 2 weeks.
Some people think it must be insanely busy, and in a way it is, but it’s also easy.
For starters, they are all around the same time, so no one has to wait months until their birthday, feeling like it will never come.
Secondly, I just shop like its Christmas.
And again, I’m in Heaven.
Like I said, I love presents.
This year, I’ve been trying to cut back on the volume and expense usually bestowed upon the children. It’s been a bit extreme, and it is a little unnecessary.
This, for me, is like trying to not blog, or do something else equally hard; just about impossible.
But I am nothing if not a woman up to a challenge, and so I have persevered, drastically reducing the bill of Birthday Season.
One way in which this was possible, was because the lovely ladies from Stuck On You asked me to do a review for them. I jumped at the opportunity, seeing as I was in need of ordering name tags for Bailey who is starting Pre-School after the holidays. (BTW, best name tags ever! Bailey is very excited about them, and now his green bucket hat will be distinguishable from all the others.)
I was also allowed to choose a personalised teddy bear for Miss Bridie’s birthday last week. Upon opening her gift, she was so excited about receiving something with her name on. With a name like Bridie, it just doesn’t happen.
So she opened her gift, pulled it out of the box, hugged her, and that was it; she was quite the smitten kitten.
And who can blame her? Cuddles is so soft even I have spent time rubbing it up and down my cheek.
What I wasn’t counting on though, was the high esteem in which this new bear was to be held. Even after opening all her presents which included some clothes, new shoes (Bridie loves shoes), a ridiculously large park of Littlest Pet Shops and a Dolls House, which she has wanted forever , Cuddles was deemed the favourite birthday present.
Which means that for the first time in six years, I did not pick the winning present.
Stuck On You has pushed me off my pedestal and claimed the crown as victor with their love able and soft plush teddy.
Well played Stuck On You. Well Played.
And just to take it to the next level, and try and achieve world domination before I do, Stuck On You is giving one lucky Diary of a SAHM reader the chance to win their very own personalised Teddy Bear, valued at $59.95.
